VNC restaurant display cases are mainly found in restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, and convenience stores. The display cases found in restaurants usually hold a display of available sweets and sometimes salads. Occasionally you might find jewelry and knickknacks displayed there too. Some smaller restaurants will display their bottled sodas in this type of display case. Of course, these are refrigerated to keep the drinks cold. These usually stand upright.
The cases found in bakeries are made specifically for dry goods displays. These cases have metal sides, with metal shelves and a glass front so you can see the donuts, cakes, cupcakes, etc. that you might want to buy to shut down your sweet tooth. The main display area in a bakery is usually lined with these display cases. They normally make up the counter top area.
In convenience stores the VNC display case is usually just inside the front door and is normally filled with ice cream bars, popsicles, fudge bars, etc. It looks similar to a chest style freezer except it has 2 sliding glass doors for the lids. Numerous grocery stores use the cold chest style to hold cheese, frozen biscuits and sometimes frozen pies. Like with convenience stores, these are a chest style cooler/freezer and are used at the end of an aisle specifically to promote a particular sales item.
VNC is the acronym for 'Very New Condition' or 'Very Nice Condition'. This means these cases are the Cadillac of the cases.
